The author, a certified holistic healthcare practitioner and minister, resides in Princeton, NJ, and has recently been serving as a speaker for the local chapter of the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI), speaking at churches, hospitals, universities and community organisations. Her hope is to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness. She created the “Heartscapes” concert and poetry reading series, in which she performs with her daughter, vocalist Kyrie London.
An evocative weaving of rhythm and rhyme reflecting forty years of the author’s life during which she married and divorced twice, had three children born at home without medication, became an ordained minister while going through the ups and downs of manic depressive illness, survived multiple suicide attempts, and met several spiritual teachers including her guru, Swami Muktananda, whose grace she credits for saving and transforming her life. Her love of people, sensuality, and nature shines through several poems about trees and her flower garden.
